How to write your profile – For Ukrainians
Your profile will be used to find you sponsors in the UK and will be the first introduction your sponsors have with you. For these reasons, it’s important that you provide as much detail as possible on your profile page. In this resource, we’ve written some tips on how to write your profile.
5 tips for writing your profile
1. Be as specific as possible.
In your profile, you’ll be asked to write about yourself and the other people on your application. It’s important to be as specific as possible in this section.
Remember that this information is used to find you a compatible sponsor, and the first thing your proposed sponsors will read about you. You can write information about who you are, what you enjoy doing, what you plan to do in the UK as well as your current situation.
2. Be open to other locations
We know that for many of you, being in a urban city is ideal.
Unfortunately, this may not always be possible as many sponsors live in rural locations across the UK. You can watch this video to understand more about UK geography
3. Explain your needs clearly
If you or any other members on your application have specific needs, such as a disability, providing detailed information about this can help to find you an appropriate sponsor and make sure that you will be in a comfortable environment when you arrive in the UK.
4. Managing your expectations
We currently have a lot more Ukrainian’s wanting to come to the UK than we have sponsors available.
For this reason, it may be hard to find you a sponsor immediately. Please keep in mind that while we are working hard to try to support everyone, it may take some time to find you a sponsor.
5. Pets!
If you are planning to come to the UK with pets, writing a little bit about them can be helpful.
You can talk about what the animal is like, if they are good around children or not, how old they are, if they get on with other animals and what their personality is like. Most people who are willing to host pets will have pets already, so providing information about this will ensure we find you the right home for both you and your pet.
