Homes for Ukraine Training Programme

It has been remarkable to see the support and interest from the British public to welcome Ukrainians into their homes and communities. This has brought a brand new audience to community-led welcome. This gives a great opportunity for sharing further learning and supporting those to avoid sponsor-breakdown later in the programme.

We have been working to support individuals and organisations to implement methods of community-led welcome of refugees since 2018.

To date, we have trained 6,500 people across the UK to be prepared to welcome newcomers to their neighbourhoods. We are commissioned by the Home Office to deliver and design the compulsory training required by all Community Sponsorship groups who welcome some of the world’s most vulnerable refugees to the UK. We have been delivering training to prepare sponsors to welcome through the Homes for Ukraine programme and feel that we have more to share that may be useful for local authorities as they work with sponsors in their areas.

All of our training is delivered online and lasts a maximum of 60 minutes. We can tailor sessions to your needs in your area.  We always aim to keep the sessions interactive and ensure that we address any questions or concerns that participants have. You can find an outline of the sessions we offer below.  We do not tolerate abusive or offensive comments or behaviour in our sessions and if this were to happen, we would end the training session with immediate effect.
