Hosting can be emotional and draining. As empathy is at the core of helping and supporting others in distress, it is important that we look after ourselves so that we can feel emotionally able to look after and support our guests.
Supporting your guests may mean that they share part of their experiences with you and you may find this difficult to hear and process. Furthermore, you are also witnessing the ups and downs of their journey which can be extremely emotional for them.
