The Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) scheme is for those who currently have permission to live in the UK under any of the Ukraine Schemes and still require sanctuary in the UK.

To apply for the UPE you need to have been granted permission to stay in the UK in any of the below ways:

  • Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (originally Homes for Ukraine)
  • Ukraine Family Scheme
  • Ukraine Extension Scheme

Additionally, you need to be in the UK at the time of applying and have either been living in the UK since you were given permission or arrived in the UK under a Ukraine scheme.

Who can apply?

Those who have been granted permission to stay in the UK in any of the below ways:

When do you need to apply?

You need to apply when you have 28 days or less remaining on your current permission stream. 

If you apply before this, it is likely that your application will be rejected. 

You must make an application before your current permission expires.

How do you know the date your current permissions expire?

You can find this date by accessing your UKVI account тут.

What do you need to apply?

You must have a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) account and have access to your eVisa.

You will need to prove your identity, you can see a list of documents which may be needed тут.

You will also need to provide information about your accommodation in the UK and provide any information on time you have spent outside of the UK since you were granted permission under any of the Ukraine schemes.

I am not a Ukrainian National, what do I need to do?

I am currently outside of the UK, can I still apply?

You must be in the UK when you make your application. If you apply from outside the UK your application may be rejected.
